Simplifying Data Ingestion with Copy job – Copy Data from Database View,  Sample dataset and New Connectors

Copy Job is now the preferred solution in Microsoft Fabric Data Factory for simplified data movement, whether you’re moving data across clouds, from on-premises systems, or between different services. With robust support for both batch and incremental copying, it offers the flexibility to tackle a wide range of scenarios with ease.

We continuously improve Copy Job to make it smarter, faster, and more powerful based on your feedback, whether big or small. In this update, we’re excited to introduce a set of enhancements that make your workflows simpler and your experience even more powerful.

1-Minute to WOW with Built-In Sample Datasets

Have you ever felt frustrated when trying a new data tool because you didn’t have a dataset ready? That’s now history. With Copy Job, you can start immediately—no need to prepare data. Just pick a built-in sample dataset as the data source to copy from, choose your destination (existing or new), and you’ll have your first Copy Job running successfully in under 1 minute. This makes your testing, learning fast, simple without any barriers.

Copy Data from Database Views

Copy Job already makes it easy to move data from tables, files, and APIs. Now, you can take it further by copying data directly from database views! Whether it’s SQL family (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Fabric SQL), Oracle, Snowflake, or more, you can seamlessly move data from your views to any destination. You can choose full copy or incremental copy for your views, giving you the power and control you need for complex data workflows.

More connectors, more possibilities

Copy Job is expanding its horizons! We’ve added more source and destination connectors to give you unmatched flexibility for data ingestion—and we’re not stopping here. Even more connectors are on the way!

Newly supported connectors:

  • Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB
  • MongoDB Atlas
  • Mongo DB
  • ODATA
  • SharePoint Online list
  • Dynamics AX
  • Azure AI search

Incremental copy now supported for more connectors:

  • FabricSql
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSql
  • AzurePostgreSql
  • AzureMySql
  • Vertica

With these additions, moving data from anywhere to anywhere just got easier and way more powerful!
