What’s new in the Fabric SQL Analytics Endpoint?
As part of our continuous effort to enhance the Fabric SQL experience, we’ve introduced several updates to improve both functionality and user experience.
Here’s an overview of the latest features:
- Metadata Sync triggered on SQL Endpoint Open
To streamline operations, metadata synchronization between the Lakehouse and SQL Analytics Endpoint is now automatically triggered when the SQL Endpoint is opened. This ensures your SQL Analytics Endpoint remains up to date without the need for manual syncs, making it a more seamless experience. - ‘Refresh’ button renamed to ‘Metadata Sync’
We’ve updated the ‘Refresh’ button on the ribbon to ‘Metadata Sync’ for improved clarity. This change helps users understand that the button initiates a manual metadata refresh between the Lakehouse and the SQL Endpoint, rather than just refreshing the object explorer.

- Last successful update on OneLake
You can now view the ‘Last Successful Update’ in OneLake directly from the table properties dialog flyout on the SQL Endpoint. This new feature provides greater visibility into your data, making it easier to track the most recent successful updates from within the properties panel.

- Improved error propagation
We’ve enhanced the way errors are reported by improving error propagation. The new system delivers more detailed and clear error messages, making troubleshooting and debugging more efficient and effective.

What’s coming soon?
