This ensures that Fabric admins have the information they need to make informed decisions about data governance in the place where they work.

Insights at a glance
On reaching the ‘Govern’ tab in OneLake catalog, Fabric admins can view a consolidated set of indicators of their governance status, including the number of items, workspaces, capacities and domains in their data estate, items by type, workspaces spread by capacity and more.

Recommended actions
To help Fabric admins improve their governance, we have outlined specific actions they can take. These include recommendations like setting policies or increasing sensitivity label coverage, setting Domains or Tags, and enabling endorsement to certify items and increase discoverability. By taking these actions, Fabric admins can ensure their data is well-managed and secured. Clicking each action provides an overview of the recommendation alongside step-by-step instructions for how to remediate the issues.

In-depth additional insights
When selecting ‘View more’ above the insight tiles on the Govern tab, Fabric admins access additional insights across three tabs: Manage your data estate, Protect, secure & comply, and discover, trust, and reuse. Each tab includes subpages with further insight categories.
This comprehensive report may be filtered by areas of interest including Capacity, Domains, and additional categories. Each visualization incorporates a drill-through function, allowing administrators to retrieve more granular information. Copilot can be activated at any time to provide further insights and facilitate interactive data exploration.

In ‘Manage your data estate’, you’ll find a broad set of overview insights about item inventory, capacity & domain assignment information, together with features usage.

In ‘Protect secure & comply’, you’ll find valuable insights about items sensitivity including overall sensitivity label coverage, activity around unlabeled items, and more. Additionally, you can understand protection state including insights on data loss prevention policies and policies violations.

In ‘Discover, trust and reuse’, you’ll find insights about freshness of the data, curation state like endorsement status, description, tags, and content sharing information.
